بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

1بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Qul huwal laahu ahad

Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,

2ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ

Allah hus-samad

Allah, the Eternal Refuge.

3لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ

Lam yalid wa lam yoolad

He neither begets nor is born,

4وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ

Wa lam yakul-lahu kufuwan ahad

Nor is there to Him any equivalent."

About This Surah

Al-Ikhlas (The Sincerity) is a Meccan surah of 4 verses that is considered equivalent in reward to one-third of the Quran, proclaiming the absolute oneness and uniqueness of God. It declares that God is One, Self-Sufficient, and Eternal, who neither begets nor was begotten, and to whom there is no equal.
