Known for its unique approach of grading each hadith and mentioning the scholarly opinions on the legal topic discussed. At-Tirmidhi's grading system (sahih, hasan, da'if) became standard methodology.

#1162 Hasan (Good) · Night Prayer

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Observe night prayer (qiyam al-layl), for it was the practice of the righteous before you and it is a means of nearness to your Lord.'

#1987 Sahih (Authentic) · Good Character

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Nothing will be heavier on the Day of Judgment in the scale of a believer than good character. Allah hates one who is obscene and shameless.'

#2004 Sahih (Authentic) · Ties of Kinship

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The one who maintains ties of kinship is not the one who reciprocates. Rather, the one who maintains ties of kinship is the one who, when his relatives cut him off, maintains his ties.'

#2305 Sahih (Authentic) · Asceticism

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'If this world were worth the wing of a mosquito to Allah, He would not have given a disbeliever even a sip of water from it.'

#2317 Sahih (Authentic) · Contentment

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Richness is not having many possessions. Rather, true richness is the richness of the soul.'

#2318 Sahih (Authentic) · Asceticism

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Look at the one who is below you and do not look at the one who is above you, for that is more likely to prevent you from belittling the blessings of Allah.'

#2499 Sahih (Authentic) · Reliance on Allah

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'If you were to rely upon Allah with the reliance He is due, you would be given provision like the birds: they go out hungry in the morning and return full in the evening.'

#2516 Hasan (Good) · Supplication

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Supplication is the essence of worship.'

#2519 Hasan (Good) · Supplication

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever does not ask Allah, He will be angry with him.'

#2687 Sahih (Authentic) · Supplication

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Make use of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before you become busy, and your life before your death.'
